Mark Teague, 63, of Denver, is also charged with violating a borough ordinance by discharging a firearm within borough limits, according to East Cocalico Township Police. Teague is accused of shooting and killing the 11-year-old German Shepherd and Alaskan Malamute mix with a .45-caliber handgun shortly after 3 a.m. on October 19, police said.
He allegedly claimed that the dog attacked him, but a family member told police that Teague was intoxicated at the time, according to police. Teague showed no sign of injury associated with a dog attack, police said. The family member told police the dog, named Koda, had no history of violent outbreaks.
