A new memorial was dedicated at Creswell Park in Manor Township to honor three fallen heroes from the Vietnam War: Sergeant Robert Lee Wenzel, Mr. Kenneth Eugene Witmer, and Lance Corporal Barry Lee Graham. The ceremony included stories from family members, a 21-gun salute, and the National Anthem.

The Lancaster County community came together to dedicate a new Vietnam War memorial at Creswell Park in Manor Township . The memorial now serves as a lasting reminder of the sacrifices of three fallen heroes from Manor Township , Sargeant Robert Lee Wenzel, Mr.

Kenneth Eugene Witmer, and Lance Corporal Barry Lee Graham. “They were ordinary people who answered the call to duty knowing that their selfless service to our great nation would never bring them fame or fortune. They certainly did not answer the call for glory and medals,” said veteran Jim Dommel. Crowds gathered to hear stories about the three heroes from the family members who carry their legacy. “As farm boys their eye was always on the harvest as soldiers their eye was always on the mission,” said Sgt. Wenzel’s brother, John Wenzel.“Bob was severely wounded when a clay bar mine accidentally exploded. He was medevac to a field hospital and died peacefully on the operating table,” said Wenzel. Kenny Witmer was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. He was tasked with carrying out search and rescue missions, as well as transporting troops to battle zones. “When a US Army sedan with a US Army logo on it pulled into our driveway on the far, we all knew what it meant. When the two servicemen came to the door, they were coming to tell our family that my younger brother Kenny was killed in service to his country,” said Jay Witmer. Lt. Cpl. Graham was deployed to Vietnam and was part of Operation Houston. He was killed three weeks after his deployment at just 19 years old.“He died doing his duty for his men and his country. He was a great soldier,” said Wenzel, who spoke on behalf of the Graham family. The three men were honored with a 21-gun salute and the procession of the color guard. The overwhelming support from the community was apparent as Manor Township residents honored the soldiers with a rendition of Taps and sung the National Anthem.“May their sacrifice remind us of the cost of freedom and may their spirit inspire us to live in unity and peace.”A tire scam spanning two states and costing a Carlisle company more than $10,000 has been halted by a local man.Fire crews were called after a pickup truck crashed into a telephone pole in Lancaster County Saturday.Fire officials said the crash happened Saturday afternoonTwo teens in Lancaster who were previously reported missing and believed to be together are now wanted in connection to a shooting in late October, according toA driver was killed after he allegedly drove around a railroad crossing and collided with a train full of passengers who "thought they were going to derail."A farm tractor overturned after it crashed into a utility pole while hauling stones this morning.Fire officials with the Garden Spot Fire Rescue said the crash
