As we enter the final weeks of the school summer holidays, weather conditions in Lancashire are expected to stay decidedly mixed with cooler temperatures and more rain on the way.
The latest Met Office forecast for the region shows a largely dry start to the week and highs of 22C, however by Friday this will have tailed off to 18C and downpours in some areas. It comes after a wet and windy end to parts of the UK last week due to Storm Betty. Monday will start off funny with clouds moving in during the morning and early afternoon before clearing from around 4pm. There is a slight chance of some rain around 7pm in western areas and then in East Lancashire from around 8pm.Darker clouds and more persistent rain will sweep in on Tuesday morning before clearing around lunchtime for a sunnier and brighter afternoon and highs of 20C.
On Thursday , mercury levels will be down to highs of 18C however less rain is forecast with a cloud and sunshine expected. Unsettled conditions will then return for most of Friday with heavier downpours expected in Blackpool at around 1pm. Looking ahead to next week, the early forecast shows a continuing trend of sunshine, clouds and rain with highs of 18C. Here is the latest five-day Met Office forecast for the region:Early mist and low cloud clearing to leave a mostly dry day with broken cloud and sunny intervals, although a few showers are possible. Rather breezy but feeling warm. Maximum temperature 23 °C.A fine end to the day for most and staying dry for many overnight with clear spells.
