BREAKING: Lancashire set for more thunderstorms and heavy rain today as Met Office warning issued
Lancashire is bracing itself for more thunderstorms and heavy rain today after the Met Office extended a weather warning.
The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms yesterday covering eastern England and Scotland. This morning, the weather agency has extended the alert to cover the whole of east Lancashire.The alert comes into force at 1pm and covers Blackburn, Darwen, Accrington, Rossendale, Burnley, Clitheroe and Nelson. It lasts until 9pm and some locations could see up to 40mm of rain falling in two hours as well as 'frequent lightning and large hail'.
