One school in Lancashire has the worst possible rating from Ofsted inspections carried out over the last two years.
Ahead of the announcements, LancsLive is revealing the schools which have received the lowest possible ratings from school inspectors, Ofsted.Ofsted carries out inspections of schools around the country every week on a rolling basis. Schools in England are regularly inspected by Ofsted and receive an overall rating based on their inspection:
Only one school in Lancashire had an “inadequate” rating as of January 31 this year, as a result of an inspection completed after May 2021 - Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School. The school is also flagged for special measures. A spokesperson for the school said in September last year that deputy head James Johnstone was acting as operational head of school with executive strategic support from Endeavour Learning Trust. Malcolm White, the chair of governors of Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School, said: “School improvement does not happen overnight but we are confident that the changes we are making will deliver the progress we need.
