🔴 Exclusive: Lancashire Police will conduct an internal review into their investigation into the disappearance of Nicola Bulley
, after it disclosed the personal health information of Ms Bulley, 45.
“A review of the investigation is diarised and will be conducted by our head of crime, Detective Chief Superintendent Pauline Stables,” the spokesperson said. Lancashire Police have already referred themselves to the Independent Office for Police Conduct over contact the force had with missing Nicola Bulley on 10 January, when they responded to a “concern for welfare” call at her address two weeks before she disappeared.
According to national guidance for major incidents, police forces should carry out a progress review between days 21 and 42 of an investigation. Asked which force would be equipped to look at the case, Mr Underhill added: “To be honest, the key consideration is travel; you don’t want officers travelling 300 miles. When I was at Sussex, I went to Kent and London. For Lancashire you’ve got Greater Manchester Police, West Yorkshire… there’s plenty of forces near by who could do it.”
