Lancashire County Council said no safety concerns have been identified, but as a precaution detailed surveys are being carried out on a small number of schools
Parents in Lancashire have been told schools will contact them directly if there are issues affecting school buildings.
It comes after it emerged that more than 150 schools in England were built using a type of concrete that could collapse, known as reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete . A number of schools around the country have been told to either shut or partially close some areas, affecting children's planned return to school.
Lancashire County Council said of the 303 schools it is responsible for, no safety concerns had been identified. However, a small number of schools would be subject to a detailed survey as a precaution. The authority also urged parents not to contact their children's school directly.
"The DfE is leading on the national investigation and is liaising directly with schools where a Diocese or Multi Academy Trust is the responsible body. Of the 303 maintained schools that the county council is responsible for, visual surveys have been undertaken where a possible presence was identified, and no safety concerns were found.
"As a precautionary measure, we are now carrying out detailed surveys on a small number of schools due to their age. We would ask parents not to contact your school about this issue as you will be contacted by your school if your school is affected."
