Lancashire battered by torrential rain and thunder as roads flood, house struck by lightning and Tesco shut
Lancashire was battered by torrential rain, thunder and lightning last night leaving roads flooded, a house in flames and a supermarket closed.
Poulton Street in Kirkham was hit by flash flooding near The Swan pub junction. One person commented on Facebook saying : "I'm so sorry for business and home owners. Please let this be the last time they have to suffer this." Met Office forecaster and meteorologist Simon Partridge said the worst of the thunderstorms was now passed and drier weather was expected going into the latter parts of the week.
