Pensioner Caroline McVicar, from Hamilton, cried as she told how she had lost her life savings after being left “high and dry” by DM Design in Cumbernauld who were meant to install her dream kitchen.
A Lanarkshire widow has been left devastated after the firm she paid to install her dream £15,000 kitchen went bust.
Specialist business advisory firm FRP Advisory said it had been appointed as Joint Provisional Liquidators on March 8. She said: “I’ve not heard anything else from them. The worker I spoke to just said I was to get onto the bank immediately. The fine was the first issued in the UK but the ICO said other firms faced complaints and more fines would follow. The company was found to have responded to just a handful of the complaints it received.
“Unfortunately, revenue was significantly lower than forecast and ultimately was insufficient to meet ongoing operational costs.
