Jefferson Marcal, creator of the NA-gen Mazda Miata with turbo headlights and what appeared to be a Lamborghini V-10, reveals the thought behind his creation.
One of the buzziest cars at this year's SEMA show was an unusual — and, seemingly, very ambitious — NA-generation Mazda Miata build. At first glance, it looked like it had a V-10 from a Lamborghini swapped in under its hood, hooked up to two turbochargers mounted in the car's signature pop-up headlight housings; a closer look revealed the engine was actually a General Motors V-8 engine with a Lamborghini intake manifold.
He adds that his application to enter the car in the show also reflected this, referring to the car as a V-8 swap.'When I put in the application with SEMA, I explained everything. It is a V-8 from a Corvette, not a V-10,' he said. 'However, I am from Brazil, and my English is so-so. I had a problem with communication, you know? I say to the guys, 'It's a Lamborghini intake,' however they may not understand because I don't speak English one hundred percent.
