New supercar could be called ‘RevueltoMore details are emerging about the upcoming Lamborghini hybrid V12 supercar, ahead of its official launch later this month. Codenamed LB744, the new range-topper will make heavy use of composite material in its so-called monofuselage.
Net result? The new supercar’s monofuselage is 10% lighter than the Aventador chassis, while the front frame is a fifth lighter than its aluminum predecessor’s nose. It’s stiffer too: torsionally 25% more robust, with a 40,000 Nm/° rigidity measure, according to Lamborghini.The technical images above revealing the composite skeleton of the new Lamborghini V12 hybrid join our existing spyshots, to give our best look yet at the new supercar.
It’s a drastic departure from the Aventador – the front end is more svelte with slimmer headlights; the pillars are daintier and the rear end has been nipped-in around the outer edges of the diffuser. And check out that dual-hexagon-shaped exhaust system. Lamborghini isn’t toning its styling down any time soon…
All in, the LB744 should be good for a maximum output of around 1000bhp. No word yet on weight, but expect the hybrid element to add to the Aventador’s circa 1.6-tonne mass, despite that clever-clogs composite construction.
