Lakewood Church is having its first Sunday services, since a deadly shooting took place at the megachurch one week ago.
“The Lakewood Church community is grateful for the support we have received after the tragic event last week. This Sunday, February 18th, we are going to have special services that will be a time of healing and restoration, a time of praise and thanking God for His angels watching after us and for his faithfulness for where we would be without the goodness in the mercy of God,” Lakewood Church said.KPRC 2 will be at the services at 11 a.m. and speak with Joel Osteen afterward.
11, Genesse Moreno, 36, of Conroe, went into the church at about 2 p.m. through the left side with her 7-year-old son.Two off-duty law enforcement officers approached her, returned fire, and she was killed.KPRC 2 continuously covered this story after the shooting.It was also later revealed that Moreno had a sticker on her AR15 that had the word “Palestine” on it.
