The Los Angeles Lakers' anticipated acquisition of Miles Bridges has been abruptly halted after the young center failed his physical examination. The trade, which sent a 2030 pick swap and their 2031 first-round pick to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Bridges, has been officially rescinded by the Lakers.

The Los Angeles Lakers ' trade for 7-foot center, Miles Bridges, has been officially voided. Sources revealed to ESPN's Shams Charania that Bridges failed his physical with the Lakers on Saturday, prompting the team to rescind the trade. While the exact nature of Bridges' physical issues hasn't been disclosed, sources indicated that multiple concerns arose during the examination.

Notably, the back, which has been a recurring issue for Bridges throughout his NBA career, was not the primary reason for the failed physical. Bridges has unfortunately battled a string of injuries since entering the league, missing substantial time due to back and foot problems. Throughout his first two and a half seasons with the Charlotte Hornets, he's only managed to participate in 84 out of a possible 212 games (39.6% availability). The Lakers had agreed to send a 2030 pick swap and their 2031 first-round pick to the Hornets in exchange for the 23-year-old Bridges. The trade was finalized during a call on Thursday following the Lakers' 120-112 victory. However, coach JJ Redick was unable to confirm Bridges' potential role in the upcoming game, stating that the trade was still pending. This unexpected turn of events leaves the Lakers searching for reinforcements at the center position. The team's front office will now need to reassess their options and explore alternative pathways to address their roster needs
