SAN FRANCISCO — The Lakers’ summer league team tasted defeat for the first time, losing to the Sacramento Kings, 87-75, in what amounted to the de facto California Classic title game on Tuesday afternoon at the Chase Center.
Max Christie, their second-round pick in last month’s NBA draft out of Michigan State, had five points and eight rebounds but shot 1 for 6 from the field, missing his two 3-point attempts, in 23 minutes. McCoy was 6 for 11 from the field, Bass shot 6 for 10 and Brown was 4 for 7, going 3 for 4 on his 3-point attempts.
Jared Rhoden had 13 points, Neemias Queta had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Keon Ellis and Matt Coleman III each had 10 points for Sacramento.
