Anthony Davis has missed 91 games since joining the Lakers and is expected to miss many more with his latest injury.
Unfortunately, it’s another year and another setback for Anthony Davis.
The star Los Angeles Lakers big man, who had been playing at an MVP level when healthy this season, is expected to miss at least one month due to a right foot injury,The eight-time All-Star went to the locker room during a game with the Denver Nuggets on Dec. 16 due to the foot ailment, where the Lakers won 126-108. The 6-foot-10 Kentucky alum logged 17 minutes on the night.
The injury comes at a time when the Lakers had finally found a stride and played decent basketball as of late, improving to 12-16 following a 2-10 start. The Lakers are 12th in the Western Conference, just 1.5 games behind the 10th-place Minnesota Timberwolves for the final play-in spot. At the time of his latest setback, Davis had been in the middle of averaging 32.4 points, 14.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.3 blocks through 13 appearances from Nov. 13 to Dec. 13. For the season, Davis has played 25 of the team’s 28 games to this point. He is averaging 27.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.1 blocks per game while converting 59.3 percent of his field goal attempts and hitting 82.6 percent from the free throw line.
