They led by as much as 27 when James was through with eight minutes left. They led by 26 when Davis’ night was done three minutes later. They had plenty of help, especially from Rui Hachimura, who had his best game with the Lakers, scoring 20 points on 10 of 14 shooting and a season-high 12 rebounds in just 25 minutes off the bench.
Davis had spent the past month returning to his championship season level of dominance. He was on Sunday. But Sengun wanted his turn. He called for the ball and went back at Davis, putting in a nice jump hook.
