Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the man could not be saved
North West Ambulance Service, Great North Air Ambulance Service, Cumbria Police and Keswick Mountain Rescue Team were called to Lingholm Woods near the shores of Derwentwater on Monday . KMRT said they were alerted shortly before midday and despite the best efforts of emergency services, the man could not be saved.In a statement on Facebook this morning , a KMRT spokesperson said: "A runner suffered a cardiac arrest in Lingholm Woods near the shores of Derwentwater.
Another wrote: "We were there with him, among many others, and I had desperately hoped to see better news. Thank you so much for what you did for him, you are wonderful people/." Another commented: "A very sad call out and very hard on all of you trying to do your best. Condolences to the man's family and friends."
