The government's accounting of arms shipments is at odds with parliamentary replies and public statements made by two Cabinet ministers, News24 can reveal, casting doubt on the reliability of official records and the official line that no arms exports to Russia was approved – or took place.
News24 has established that the government's records for arms shipments do not tally with parliamentary replies by Minister in the Presidency Mondli Gungubele and public statements by Minister of Defence and Military Veterans Thandi Modise over arms shipments out of the country.
