AOC slams SA quarantine requirements over 'mental health risk' for returning Olympians
The Australian Olympic Committee has hit out at a decision to force 16 South Australian athletes currently quarantining in Sydney to undertake a second 14-day quarantine period on arrival in Adelaide.
International arrivals who undertook their mandatory 14 days of hotel quarantine in Sydney were previously allowed to travel into Adelaide without a separate quarantine period. The AOC said SA's requirement "lacks science and common sense" at a time of "mental and emotional vulnerability" for athletes.
"They are being punished for proudly representing their country with distinction at the Olympic Games."
