Angela Rayner said Holyrood 'won't need' the powers 'because I want employment law across the whole of the United Kingdom to be uplifted and better.'
Labour would not devolve employment law to the Scottish Parliament if the party wins the next general election, its deputy leader has said.
The Tory bill aims to bring in a minimum level of service for fire and ambulance workers for when they are on strike. Critics have said this will force workers to cross picket lines, and is intended to weaken trade unions. She added: "I want to see us having real good employment practices across the whole of the United Kingdom. So the New Deal for Working People will be in effect across the board rather than it being split up between the different nations.
Labour has said its New Deal for Working People will tackle insecure work. The plans include giving workers a right to protection against unfair dismissal, parental leave, and sick pay from their first day.
