Labour has been forced to deny there is a rift between Keir Starmer and Anas Sarwar over the Israeli military intervention in Gaza.
Calls are growing for a ceasefire in Gaza amid fears of a worsening humanitarian crisis in the densely populated urban area. Asked whether there was a deepening rift between the two, a spokesman for Starmer said: "Anas is entitled to his views on this."“We have seen this being debated in Parliament, with two statements and a full set of Prime Minister’s Questions last week. We have been very clear and consistent in setting out our views on this and he chose to raise alternative questions at Prime Minister’s Question Time today,” he said.
