A construction worker died and three others were injured after they were electrocuted while installing a solar street light in Barangay Talisay on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 10.

TIAONG, Quezon – A construction worker died and three others were injured after they were electrocuted while installing a solar street light in Barangay Talisay here on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 10.

Police identified the fatality as Christian Caalaman, a resident of Barangay Ibabang Talim, Lucena City, and the injured as Arnel Gonzaga dela Cruz, Ronel Gonzaga dela Cruz, and Jomel dela Torre Benuza. Investigation said they were electrocuted after the steel post of the solar street light they were installing on the Maharlika Highway at 3:40 p.m. accidentally touched a high-tension wire.

Caalaman sustained injuries in the body and was taken to the Peter Paul Medical Center in Candelaria, this province, where he was declared dead. The injured who sustained burns were also taken to the same hospital.
