Events today through Saturday include tours, award ceremonies, picnics and panel discussions
For this year’s La Jolla Landmark Week, the La Jolla Historical Society is offering its most robust set of programs yet, and will focus on the people and places that made La Jolla a “vibrant hub for modernist architecture.” Events kicked off Saturday with the sold-out La Jolla Modernism Home Tour, wich was such a big ticket-seller, organizers may bring it back next year. Other Landmark Week activities planned this week include award ceremonies, picnics and panel discussions.
panel will explore influences of site, culture, materials and values upon their projects as part of the transformation of La Jolla neighborhoods and take place at the La Jolla Woman’s Club, 7791 Draper Ave. The cost is $10 for Historical Society members and $15 for non-members. To celebrate the recent designation of the La Jolla Park Coastal Historic District, a free bring-your-own-picnic party will be held at noon Saturday.
