Los Angeles County Public Health officials announced plans to expand access to the monkeypox vaccine to high-risk people."I want to be clear that the risk of monkeypox to the general population remains very low according to the information we currently have available," said L.A. County public health official Dr. Rita Singahal.

"Beginning on Monday, July 11, we're happy to report we'll be expanding eligibility criteria for residents to receive the monkeypox vaccine," said vaccine-preventable disease control director Andrea Kim.
