Labour inspectors have ordered KZN education officials to vacate their offices in the Pinetown District. ECRNewsWatch KZN
They say the staff members have for two weeks been working without water and lights after they were cut-off by eThekwini for failing to pay their bills.
It's understood that KZN Department of Education owes the municipality some R3 million outstanding utility bills. Nhlanhla Khumalo, who is with KZN Department of Labour, says they issued two prohibition notices for the building's ground floor and basement."Lighting is the most problematic and the fire extinguisher are not maintained up to standard. The ablution system is not up to standard. In that building, we could also see that there were windows that were not open accurately."
