Provincial chair Siboniso Duma says the monument will be located at the KZN Legislature in Pietermaritzburg and, will be made higher than the statues of British monarch Queen Victoria.and Sir Theophilus Shepstone.
Speaking at the provincial legislature yesterday, Duma says the king represented the strongest bond between the people of KZN, the continent and the Diaspora. "With the powers of this house, I would like to raise the following. This house acknowledges and recognises the role played by the late king HM king Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu for being passionate about development, advocating peace and for, being honest, and standing for the truth.
"Therefore, this house has decided to honour King Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu by building the biggest statue at the legislature buildings to honour him.
