The attacker hit a thunderbolt in the Rangers derby but has made a conscious decision to change his boots up.
The Japanese attacker after all struck an absolute thunderbolt against rivals Rangers on Sunday before heading back to his homeland to be part of key games for Hajime Moriyasu's men, alongside Parkhead pal Daizen Maeda. The Samurai Blue will face Germany on Saturday before squaring off with Turkey on September 12 and the 28-year-old has been called up as a reward for his fine form under new boss Brendan Rodgers.
And despite hitting 30 plus goals for Celtic last season, some eagle-eyed fans have spotted the forward has made a key change to his attire while turning out for the national side. Kyogo belted past Jack Butland wearing a pair of Asics spikes, a go-to for the former Vissel Kobe attacker during his time in the J-League that eventually earned him a move to Ange Postecoglou's men.
But now Kyogo is donning a pair of Nike's speed model 'zoom mercurial vapor elite', the same boots worn by winger Maeda. It's a conscious change for the attacker to make. He wore a blackout version during a pre-season friendly for the Hoops against Athletic Bilbao. It's led outlet Qoly to propose that Kyogo could sign a deal with Nike, or that simply he's trying something new to impress Moriyasu in the upcoming games.
