The drama began when Neymar refused to let Mbappe take a second penalty after the 23-year-old had missed his first attempt from the spot in the match, with the Frenchman walking away visibly frustrated. The Selecao No. 10 then calmly converted the spot-kick, but the story would not end there as reports in France suggested that the dispute between the two players spewed over into the dressing room after the match.
The duo were called in for a meeting with manager Christophe Galtier and sporting advisor Luis Campos earlier this week, where the attacking pair were reprimanded and told to solve their differences behind closed doors and not out in public. With there also being speculation that Neymar was upset about rumours that Mbappe had asked for PSG to sell him, the France international's mother Fayza Lamari has now issued a brief update on the situation.
