ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Kuskokwim 300 sled dog race has been postponed for two weeks, according to an announcement Wednesday from race officials.
In a press release, officials pointed out the weather forecast for Tuluksak, Kalskag and Aniak — all checkpoints in the prominent 300-mile race that starts and ends in Bethel — rise above freezing for multiple days next week.“This outlook made it impossible to determine whether there would be a trail that is safe for human and canine athletes come race time,” the press release stated.
