LOS ÁNGELES — Mientras Universal Pictures se preparaba para una gran noche en los Premios de la Academia con “Oppenheimer”, el estudio también celebró el debut y el primer lugar en taquilla de “Kung Fu Panda 4”, que recaudó 58,3 millones de dólares en cines de Norteamérica el fin de semana, según estimaciones del domingo.
La secuela épica de ciencia ficción de Denis Villeneuve se mantuvo con fuerza en su segunda semana y recaudó 46 millones de dólares, lo que eleva su total acumulado nacional a 157 millones de dólares para Warner Bros. y Legendary Pictures. El tercer lugar fue para la película de terror de Lionsgate y Blumhouse “Imaginary”, sobre un siniestro osito de peluche. Debutó con 10 millones de dólares.
