The former Parkhead strike hero has his say on where he thinks Sunday's Ibrox showdown can be won by the champions.

Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kuhn don’t readily jump out as the major figures in Celtic’s set-up heading to Ibrox.

Rangers are going to push on. They have the entire stadium of fans behind them and it is inevitable they will get on the front foot. Philippe Clement’s team can strike a really huge blow in the title race with a win and I can’t see them being cautious. Even a hint of rust will be found out and exploited and doing work in the gym and on an exercise bike for a month isn’t enough. If he’s flying around in training, fine. Get him straight in there.

The Rangers captain is having another terrific season and his numbers in terms of goals are outstanding. It’s not just him scoring, he creates so much with his terrific ability to produce quality balls from the flanks and support the attack, as he did last weekend’ with his brilliant volley to open the scoring against Hibs.

I suspect the Rangers captain won’t be able to help himself being positive and that is where Maeda, and Kuhn on the other side, have to sparkle. Join Record Sport's Celtic WhatsApp community! Get the latest Hoops news sent straight to your messages by joining our Celtic WhatsApp community today.
