All of the Trailblazers featured in PennLive's stories had for mentors and role models who encouraged and supported them
Kudos to the Patriot-News and PennLive and the feature writers for the Next Generation of Black Leaders in Central PA published in February. Congratulations also, to those leaders who were featured.
What I took away from all of the interviews was the appreciation they all had for mentors and role models who encouraged and supported them in setting goals and working hard to achieve them. I was impressed with their sense of personal responsibility, not blaming others for their circumstances and disadvantages and not expecting anyone else to change their situations.
Equally impressive was everyone’s desire to give back to their communities and to be a visible example of how to make good choices and to choose career paths, not necessarily based on making the most money, but ones that would lead to improving the welfare of people in their community.If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
