IPOH: Passengers can enjoy free one-way KTMB Komuter Utara train rides between Ipoh and Butterworth for two days.

Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said in conjunction with the operation of the new KTMB Utara route to Padang Rengas and Ipoh, the public can enjoy free train rides“The two-day free rides are limited to one-way journeys from three stations in Ipoh, Sungai Siput and Kuala Kangsar to other stations along the way between Ipoh and Butterworth.

“We believe the new routes will bring positive impact to the state, especially to the tourism industry and also ease the daily affairs of the people travelling for work or vacation,” he said in a statement. “The synergy between all related parties will give a boost to the ‘rail tourism’ industry, especially in making the Visit Perak Year 2024 a success through various plans that will be organised to attract more tourists,” he added.He said the price for a one-way ticket for adults is priced at RM12.80 while the concession fare for children, senior citizens and the disabled is RM6.40.

“The first train from Ipoh to Butterworth will leave at 4.40am while the first train will depart Butterworth for Ipoh at 5.30am.to our Premium Plan for an ad-free and unlimited reading experience!
