What’s cooler than wearing a full look pulled straight off the runway? Mixing, matching, and styling a piece or two with something from your very own closet. Just askphoto call at the 79th annual Cannes Film Festival in an ensemble that proved high-low dressing is still alive and well. Styled by Tara Swennen, the look was built around a sheer two-piece set from Matthieu Blazy’s Spring 2026 Couture collection for Chanel.
Both the short-sleeve top and matching midi skirt offered a light-weight take on the house’s classic tweed suit, with a collar neckline, patch pockets, and pristine tailoring, transforming tradition into something fresh and contemporary. Frayed edges and jewel buttons gave the set its final touches, and Stewart layered it over a pale-pink slip. —but opted against the runway’s counterpart when it came to shoes.
Swapping color-blocked heels for something a bit more comfortable, she wore her Cannes look with a pair of. The saddle oxford sneakers, which looked perfectly lived in, featured leather uppers and a bit of black-and-white color blocking of their own.follows a wealthy American industrialist on a trip to Paris, where he attempts to reconnect with his estranged daughter.
