Trump also denied the claims, calling Woodward a 'bad storyteller.' White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre expressed concern if the reports are true.
“No, that’s not true,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said when asked if Trump and Putin had spoken on the phone. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told Bloomberg News in a written statement that “we also sent equipment at the beginning of the pandemic.” The Kremlin did not respond to NBC News' request for comment.
The Republican nominee said last month that his relationship with Putin is “very good.” He said the same of his ties to Ukrainian President As a private citizen, Trump would need the sitting president’s express permission to negotiate on behalf of the U.S. government. Woodward says in the book that senior adviser Jason Miller told him in July that he was “not aware” of any conversations between Trump and Putin, but should they wish to speak, “they’d know how to get in touch with each other.” What time is the Padres game today?
