Rick & Morty co-creator Dan Harmon unleashes a new animated comedy series in the trailer for Krapopolis. With Rick and Morty season 7 set to premiere later in 2023, with big changes afoot after the firing of co-creator/main voice actor Justin Roiland, Harmon is set to unleash his new creation as part of Fox’s vaunted Animation Domination block.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Ahead of the Krapopolis season 1 premiere date, Fox has unveiled a new trailer for the show, previewing its crazy cast of characters and their weird and bloody historical exploits . Featured in Krapopolis are the vocal talents of Richard Ayoade, Matt Berry, Hannah Waddingham, Pam Murphy, Duncan Trussell and Alanna Ubach. The show also boasts a solid array of guest stars, including Susan Sarandon, Will Forte, Jane Lynch, Yvette Nicole Brown, Dave Franco, Daveed Diggs, Ben Stiller and Joel McHale.
Krapopolis Introduces Another Of Harmon’s Flawed Families Before giving the world the ever-insane exploits of the Smith family in the animated juggernaut Rick and Morty, Harmon first explored the dynamics within a tight-knit group of very odd people in the live-action NBC sitcom Community. Though the community college study group at the heart of Community was not literally a family, they very much became one over the course of the show’s six seasons.
Krapopolis looks like it will very much delve into the wacky side of ancient history, delivering a combination of crazy and dark humor that will be familiar to anyone who has devoured Rick and Morty over the years. But the show is also zeroing in on family dynamics again, unleashing an array of characters who all have their personal foibles, and making comedy gold out of the friction that results as these less-than-perfect humans attempt to work together.
