Koby Altman said Cavs ideally would have a new head coach by the NBA Draft

Koby Altman and his staff will start their search for the next coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers next Tuesday.

CLEVELAND, Ohio - J.B. Bickerstaff , Altman said the front office is going to take the holiday weekend off to decompress and will begin to cultivate a list of potential candidates early next week.

“I know people already have lists that we have, that’s not true,” Altman said. “We’re going to come back on Tuesday, and go over the characteristics and specific questions that we have, and then start to compile a list and go from there.”Altman said the front office will lead the search, and team owner Dan Gilbert will play a role at the end once they’ve narrowed down their finalists.
