Man United youngster Kobbie Mainoo has been included in the England squad for the very first time ahead of the clashes with Brazil and Belgium.
Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown has suggested Gareth Southgate will take things slowly with Kobbie Mainoo following the youngster's first call-up to the England squad.
Following that display, questions were asked of Southgate as to why he had overlooked him for the upcoming friendlies. But now that he has been included, a lot of England fans believe he should immediately become a mainstay in the Three Lions' midfield and, as a result, be included in the squad for the European Championship in Germany this summer.
"Even if he wasn't to start, I am pretty sure Gareth will be watching him to see how he does against all those boys. But like I have said, he is definitely an England star in the future. He continued: "Even if he doesn't get on, it is a great experience for him, because I am pretty sure he will be selected many times in the future. It is good that the manager has done that.
"He gets himself in good positions, he can tackle, intercept and obviously we have seen his feet going forward and causing problems there."
