To make room for the ex-Cavaliers forward, the Knicks will have to make another roster move.
The Knicks are adding free agent Dylan Windler, signing the injury-plagued 26-year-old wing to a two-way contract.The 6-foot-6 Windler was a former first-round pick by Cleveland; but after playing 50 games for the Cavaliers two years ago he made just three appearances last season, plagued by ankle and then hamstring woes.
He seems likely to spend most of the upcoming campaign with G League Westchester.The NBA raised the number of two-way spots from two up to three this upcoming season, but all of the Knicks’ are currently spoken for by Jaylen Martin, Nathan Knight and Trevor Keels.Duane Washington had also been extended a two-way qualifying offer, which would require another cut if he accepts the offer.
