The New York Knicks are on the verge of winning their first NBA championship since 1973 after a historic comeback in Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden.
The team erased a 29-point deficit to secure a victory, creating one of the most unforgettable moments in recent sports history. Celebrities including Taylor Swift and Mariska Hargitay were courtside, adding star power to the electric atmosphere. Swift, a known Knicks fan, celebrated passionately with friends, drawing attention and viral moments. Radio analysts Ali and Shannon, covering the game for a broadcast, described the intensity and disbelief among fans as the momentum shifted.
They also noted the significance of their partnership with Reese's Oreo, whose orange and blue branding aligns with the Knicks' colors and the city's playoff fervor. Meanwhile, Knicks radio analyst Monica McNutt faced backlash after a hot mic comment about Swift, which some deemed racist. McNutt defended her remarks, stating she was merely observing the situation and not targeting race. The controversy sparked discussions on sports commentary and celebrity influence.
The series now moves to San Antonio for Game 5 on June 13, where the Knicks aim to clinch the title, with Ali and Shannon expected to be present. The convergence of sports, celebrity, and cultural commentary highlights the broader impact of the Knicks' playoff run
