Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits he was attempting to prevent angry Brighton counterpart Roberto Di Zerbi from getting into trouble during their touchline interaction.
And Klopp, who has had plenty of similar run-ins with officials earlier in his career, has revealed he intervened with some advice for Di Zerbi. Liverpool were second best for much of the first half having fallen behind to Simon Adingra’s 20th-minute opener only for Mohamed Salah to strike a quickfire double shortly before the break.
