Liverpool boss has discussed his stance on Saudi Arabia and transfer window dates as Mohamed Salah rumours continue to swirl

Jurgen Klopp admits he views the Saudi Pro League's spending as "a threat" to his Liverpool plans as interest in Mohamed Salah continues on transfer deadline day.

Speculation from the Middle East has been rife over the last week with Salah linked with a move to SPL champions Al-Ittihad, with reports suggesting the Egypt international could become the highest-paid player in world football should he move to Jeddah. Klopp insists that is a major concern for all European clubs who are sitting ducks for the next few weeks due to the level of financing within the Saudi Pro League and the eye-watering contracts they are able to offer players they are looking to sign.

The Reds boss told his Friday morning press conference: "I don't know how stable [the Saudi Pro League] is or how long it will stay like this but I think the next two weeks will show how much of a challenge it is because whatever happens there, obviously, nobody [in Europe] can react anymore. That's something I think UEFA or whoever should have an eye on to solve that because we all have to protect the game and we want to.
