IPOH: The upcoming 4,200ha project at Kledang Saiong Forest Reserve is still awaiting for its Environmental Impact Assessment approval, says Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.
The Perak Mentri Besar said the state government only approved the location for the monoculture farming project."While the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry had initially approved a total of 100,000ha land in Perak for monoculture farming a few years ago, our state government decided to agree on 32,000ha only," he told reporters at a hotel here on Wednesday
Saarani added that although the state had approved the project’s location, members of the public were still welcome to give opinions during the public hearing."Even if it gets approved, the companies must follow the standard operating procedures for the project.
