At 9.34am, the FBM KLCI was down 14.36 points or 0.95% to 1,496.88. Turnover was 1.46 billion shares valued at RM565.67mil. Decliners beat advancers 423 to 176 while 340 counters were unchanged. The S&P 500 futures fell 1.1% slid on news about the latest development in the volatile US-China trade deal.
Wire reports said the yuan slid against the dollar in offshore trading after Trump aide Peter Navarro said"it’s over, ” when asked in a Fox News interview about the trade agreement with China. At Bursa on Monday, local retail investors again led the way and were net buyers at RM102mil and local institutions at net RM11.8mil while foreign funds net sellers at RM113.8mil.KL Kepong was down 38 sen to RM21.80 while Top Glove lost 12 sen to RM15.48, MISC 11 sen to RM7.69 and SAM Engineering 10 sen to RM7.11.BAT fell 20 sen to RM10.96 and Carlsberg 12 sen to RM22.62 but Ajinomoto rose 18 sen to RM14.88 and Nestle 10 sen to RM139.10.
