The film debuts in theaters on November 6. As the new trailer opens, Stewart is one of the biggest stars of Hollywood's Golden Age. Unfortunately, the winds of war are blowing towards America's shore, as the United States is drawn into World War II. Stewart is determined to serve his country, even as studio boss Louis B. Mayer tries to convince him otherwise.
Even his military superior tries to avoid the risk of losing Jimmy Stewart in combat, but Stewart persists, and becomes an Air Force pilot. But the war takes its toll, and Stewart is left adrift in peacetime. That's when he's approached by Frank Capra approaches him with the script for It's a Wonderful Life.

Karolyn Grimes, who played Stewart's daughter in It's a Wonderful Life, will cameo in the film.
It is directed by Aaron Burns, from a script by Justin Strawhand. It is a production of Burns & Co. Entertainment, and will be distributed by Fathom Entertainment. Today would have been Stewart's 118th birthday, and was declared Jimmy Stewart Day by the state of Pennsylvania; Stewart was a native of Indiana, Pennsylvania.
Director Burns and Kelly Stewart-Harcourt, Stewart's daughter and an executive producer on Jimmy, marked the occasion by opening a new exhibit on the making of the film in Indiana's Jimmy Stewart Museum. Papaian Studios and Commerce Casino also commemorated the event by donating $1 million USD to the non-profit organization Vet Tix, which will send US servicemen and their families to the film for free when it opens this November.
