The best reunions are the kind that brings together two beloved co-stars. And that was the case this week when Joey King and Taylor Zakhar Perez reunited at the Screen Actors Guild Awards Ambassador Dinner in Los Angeles.
The two former Kissing Booth 2 actors took part in a viral TikTok trend, alongside actors Phil Dunster , Sam Li , and Noah Lalonde . Perez kicked off the TikTok video — which starts with him saying, “I'm an actor, of course I'm gonna yell ‘line.'” He then looks to the side and says, “Is that right? Line!” The camera then goes to Lalonde, who jokes “I'm an actor. Of course everyone thinks I'm dating my co-star.” The camera then pans to My Life With The Walter Boys co-star Nikki Rodriguez, who is in fact dating the actor. The video then lands on Joey King, who says “I'm an actor, of course I had my first kiss on-screen.” King said in the past that she had her first real kiss with actor Keegan Allen in The Sound and the Fury, directed by James Franco. King was only 14 at the time, while Allen was 26. King and Perez have remained close friends since filming the sequels to Kissing Booth — the beloved Netflix movies that jumpstarted the careers of both Perez and Jacob Elordi. Both King and Perez defended the films after Elordi called them “ridiculous.” Joey King — who dated Elordi during filming — said “It’s unfortunate anyone would feel that way.” “I had a great time making those movies no matter what anyone says,' she told Variety. Taylor Zakhar Perez, who played a fan-favorite in the rom-com adaptation, Red, White & Royal Blue, was chosen as SAG's ambassador this year, alongside Phil Dunster, who plays Jamie in Ted Lasso. The guild wrote in its announcement that ambassadors are “actors who exemplify the utmost values of the profession and are positive role models for the next generation of performers.”
