Georgia head coach Kirby Smart was involved in a bizarre incident with Mississippi State quarterback Michael Van Buren on Saturday. Georgia football coach Kirby Smart appeared to get a little too zealous when trying to get to an assistant coach on Saturday.
Smart appeared to shove Mississippi State quarterback Michael Van Buren out of the way to get to defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann after Van Buren ran off the sideline near the Georgia bench. The incident happened with Georgia up by 17 late in the fourth quarter, on the way to a 41-31 victory at Sanford Stadium.No flag was thrown on the play. Smart told reporters afterward he didn’t remember doing it, but it may have occurred while he was trying to speak to Schumann..
