Michelle Mann ELBA — A new baseball/softball field for the Kinston School can move forward thanks to support from Bill and Myra Mullins of Kinston. The couple were honored at the May Coffee County School System Board of Education meeting.

“We are pleased to announce that Mr. and Mrs. Mullins have been gracious enough to work with Coffee County School district representatives to make the to make the purchase of 14 acres of land adjacent to the school possible,” said Coffee County Schools Superintendent Kelly Cobb as she recognized and thanked the couple at a recent CCSS BOE meeting. “Mr. Bill and Ms. Myra have worked tirelessly over many decades to support the youth in the community.

Cobb said the Mullins agreed to sell the 14-acress land to the Coffee County Board of Education through initial communication with school system employees Tim Bedsole from Kinston High School, and CCSS Facilities Coordinator/Transportation Supervisor Dewayne Hamilton. People are also reading… “We certainly appreciate Mr. Bill’s and Ms. Myra’s willingness and efforts to make this property acquisition possible,” said Cobb. “We can finally begin to move forward with adding the development of baseball/softball fields and facilities for Kinston School to the district’s Capital Plan.

“We are grateful that the Mullins share in Coffee County School’s vision for improving the Kinston School campus, that will make the Kinston community proud,” she added.
