King County Metro has suspended bus service in all directions along 12th and Jackson in the Chinatown-International District as of Monday.

The agency said the area was "a location of frequent illegal activity," making it a "safety issue for our riders, transit operators and facilities employees." King County Metro alerted riders on Sunday night to temporarily stop bus service in the area until further notice.12th and Jackson was among several locations in the CID where police say five people were randomly attacked in a mass stabbing last month.

"Affected bus routes 1, 7, 9, 14, 36, 60 and 106 remain on regular routes and are serving riders at other nearby stops along the routes.
