King Charles is lending his support to earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
The monarch spent his Valentine's Day visiting with volunteers in London gathering donations to help out those affected by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that took place in the two countries last week. Charles struck a serious tone while speaking with various members of the West London Turkish Volunteers in Hounslow, who have been collecting food, blankets, and warm clothing and helping coordinate transportation of these essential items to the devastated region.
Immediately following the natural disaster on February 6, the royal also released an official statement, expressing that he and his wifewere sending “thoughts and special prayers” to the people of those two countries. They also gave a donation to the U.K. Disasters Emergency Committee's Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal.
on February 9, re-sharing a plea from the DEC for donations. “Our thoughts are with the communities affected and we are pleased to support the @decappeal campaign which will aid the response on the ground.”, and is still expected to climb.
